While teachers incorporate a wide range of technologies into their lessons, the following premium systems are also fully integrated into our curricula. Together, they support basic learning, digital competencies, creative expression and credential verification, preparing our students for futures in the competitive global marketplace.
ALC Rabat was the first educational institution in Morocco to integrate Canvas LMS into its curriculum, in 2020. (Al Akhawayn University added Canvas in 2022.) Canvas is the world's leading learning management system used in top US school districts and universities, including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Georgetown and Stanford.
In addition to our traditional in-person classes, adults at ALC Rabat interact with Canvas throughout their studies, with supplemental learning activities, assessment activities, and their final exam on Canvas. Higher-level junior students have similar interactions but take their final exam on paper. Child 6 students may use Canvas for simple games and activities as an introduction to more in-depth usage in the Junior program.
Canvas requires access to a smart phone or computer with a browser. Each user also needs a unique email address that is not shared with any other ALC student.
Canva is an international graphic design platform used to create social media graphics and presentations. Canva for Education is a premium edition seamlessly integrated into ALC Rabat's instance of Canvas LMS. Students can collaborate or work independently to create outstanding graphics, applying their language learning in highly creative ways.
Canvas Credentials is a digital badging platform that awards verifiable badges based on course requirements, confirming specific competencies and achievements, such as completing an ALC course.
Since Badges are digital, they contain metadata that can be accessed simply by clicking on the badge. Badges are embedded into job applications, university applications, and wherever needed.
ALC Rabat integrates Smart TVs into its curriculum.
Every classroom and activity space at ALC Rabat is equipped with large Smart TVs, providing internet access, access to educational apps, classroom audio and video.
This innovative approach not only enhances comprehension but also fosters a more interactive and engaging learning environment.
Free Wifi is available in all ALC Rabat classrooms and public spaces, allowing students to participate in online activities supervised by their instructor.
